University of Cambridge Visit
In March, a group of Year 12 students travelled to the University of Cambridge for an immersive look at life in higher education. They spent the day at Trinity College, the largest of the university’s thirty-one colleges and the former home of many notable students including Sir Isaac Newton, Lord Byron, Eddie Redmayne, and King Charles III.
The visit focused on demystifying the elite university experience. Through a series of workshops, students explored how to select the right degree course and how to craft a competitive application for highly selective universities.

A highlight of the day was the student discussion panel. Hearing three current Cambridge undergraduates speak candidly about their journeys and their passion for their subjects was incredibly impactful. Their stories served as a vital reminder to our Year 12s: places like this are within your reach.
Beyond the workshops, the group enjoyed a tour of the college, including a visit to the Wren Library. This library houses an extraordinary collection of history including medieval books, A.A. Milne’s original Winnie-the-Pooh manuscript, and handwritten notes by Robert Oppenheimer. Lunch in the atmospheric Great Hall under the portrait of Henry VIII, who founded the college in 1546, gave a true taste of college life.
