Y12 Parents Careers Conference

Recently Year 12 parents were invited to attend our annual Parents Careers Conference, where they signed up to a variety of sessions to learn all the key information needed to support their young people through the various progression options which lie ahead in the coming months.

As well as hearing from our own Progression Team, parents and carers were able to attend sessions on a range of subjects hosted by University of Oxford, Durham University and Newcastle University. In addition, a wide variety of other education providers and employers were on hand in the refectory  including University of York, University of Cambridge, Northern School of Art and EY to name a few. Bespoke conversations here allowed parents and students to discuss specific details in person and gain answers to any questions they had in more depth.

Our annual Parents Careers Conference continues to be a positive and valuable event for those who attend, with the sessions aimed at topics which will be of particular interest such as student finance, apprenticeships, widening participation, work experience and applying to competitive universities.

Feedback from our parents was once again extremely complimentary as they appreciated the flexibility of booking sessions of particular interest, the variety of options available and the ability to speak face to face to representatives as well outside of the talks.
