Our students recently returned from an extraordinary immersive excursion across Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta. From navigating bustling city streets to exploring lush waterways, here is a look back at the incredible itinerary that brought history, culture, and local traditions to life.

The urban adventure kicked off with deep dives into Vietnam’s rich heritage and vibrant street life. Students explored the Vietnam History Museum, Thien Hau Temple, Reunification Hall and the Fine Arts Museum before strolling down historic Dong Khoi Street. The group then took to the streets on traditional cyclos, three-wheeled bicycle rickshaws, getting an up-close look at Saigon’s famous energy.

Day 4 featured a hands-on cooking class at the Central Market, introducing students to authentic flavours. After somber, educational stops at the War Remnants Museum and the Thich Quang Duc Memorial, the evening ended on a high note with a captivating traditional Water Puppet Show.

Leaving the city behind, the group headed south into the agricultural heartland of Tien Giang province. Students boarded private wooden motorboats to navigate the winding channels of the Mekong River, gaining insight into local riverfront life and farming. Rising early in Can Tho, the group drifted through the bustling floating markets, followed by interactive visits to local craft workshops and a home-cooked lunch. After returning north to Saigon, students celebrated their final evening in the city with a group farewell dinner.

On the final day, students traveled to the world-famous Cu Chi Tunnels. Crawling through portions of the historic underground network offered an unforgettable history lesson before the group enjoyed a final lunch together and headed to the airport for the journey home.
