The teachers are always willing to organise opportunities such as Biology Week which provide an insight into biology outside of the A- level specification. It’s a subject where there is always something new and exciting to look into, such as genetic engineering and stem cells. Many people want a career in which they can help people and naturally many feel drawn to medicine but the research carried out in these sectors can help people just as much even more. On average a doctor will save three lives in their career but through research in areas such as biochemistry and biomedical science thousands can be saved through new medical discoveries.
