Pride Month Celebration

In the middle of Pride month, staff and students came together in a joyful celebration of Pride Month with our annual Pride Picnic — and what an afternoon it was!

Set on the front lawn under sunny skies, the event was full of colour, music, and celebration. Students gathered to enjoy an afternoon of pride-themed tunes, sharing food, laughter, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Highlights included free pizza and colour cupcakes, as well as Pride-themed music to bring the atmosphere alive and filled the space with joy and positivity.

Laura from Cherry Red Face Painting, provided fabulous face painting and glitter art, adding a sparkling touch to the festivities.

We were also thrilled to be joined by Waythrough and Newcastle University Pride Society, who offered information, resources, support and friendly conversation for students to access services and have a friendly conversation for students wanting to learn more.

The Pride Picnic was not just a fun afternoon, it was a vibrant reminder of our school’s commitment to inclusion, allyship, and celebration of diversity.

Thank you to everyone who came along, and a thank you to all those who helped make the event possible. Here’s to love, acceptance, and pizza! 🏳️‍🌈
