Sarah Atkinson

I was born and raised in County Durham and have worked in the NHS for over 20 years, always focused on improving healthcare for local communities. I am currently the Directorate Manager for Trauma & Orthopaedics at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, leading teams and shaping services that make a real difference to our patients.

I have BSc(hons) in both Sport and Exercise Development and Clinical Physiology and an MBA in Senior Leadership, giving me a strong mix of clinical knowledge and management expertise. I am passionate about supporting people to reach their potential and believe that education plays a vital role in creating opportunities.

Away from work, I am a mum to a teenage daughter and in my spare time enjoy walking the dog, going to the gym, and reading. As a Governor, I would like to use my experience to help students thrive and achieve their goals.
