Freshers Week 2025
We are happy to share the success of this year’s Freshers’ Week, which gave our new and returning students the perfect start to the academic year. The week was packed with opportunities to connect, explore and get involved in all that DSFC has to offer.
One of the highlights was our Enrichment Fair, where both student- and staff-led groups set up stalls to showcase the fantastic range of clubs and societies available. From creative and cultural groups, to academic and wellbeing-based societies, there was something to suit every interest. Students enjoyed speaking directly with group leaders, discovering new activities, and even signing up to launch new initiatives themselves. The fair was ‘buzzing’ with energy, showing the incredible enthusiasm our students bring to extracurricular life.
Later in the week, we welcomed a variety of external organisations, charities and projects to our Freshers’ Fair. These stalls introduced students to volunteering opportunities, local youth projects, and activities beyond school. There was also valuable information about health and wellbeing services available to young people in our area. This provided students with a chance to explore how they can get involved in their wider community while gaining valuable experiences and skills.
The week was a true celebration of our community spirit – showing that sixth form is about so much more than the classroom. With so many opportunities available, we are excited to see students embrace new challenges, develop their passions, and continue to shape a vibrant, supportive school culture.
